£700,000 settlement for motorcyclist
Mr A's claim was funded on a no-win-no-fee basis.
We arranged early rehabilitation support for Mr A, and secured interim payments throughout the claim to assist him financially during the period he was unable to return to work.
During the course of the claim we sought evidence from experts, including a plastic surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon, psychiatrist, occupational therapist, and an orthotist.
The defendant's solicitor made an initial offer to settle the claim in the sum of £350,000, which was rejected. The claim was eventually settled in the sum of £700,000 at a mediation which took place one month prior to the trial date.
Background
Mr A was riding his motorcycle to visit his mother when the defendant, a car driver, performed a U-turn, which resulted in the collision.
The defendant's insurers admitted liability seven months after the accident.
Mr A's orthopaedic injuries left him with permanent mobility difficulties. He required extensive medical treatment and surgery, which was ongoing at the time of the settlement of the claim, which was concluded on very favourable terms, providing for his future needs.
