Life: It's better on two wheels
Published: 04:30PM BST 09 Jul 2010
This year's nationwide Get On campaign, organised by the Motorcycle Industry Association, is to encourage more people to get on two-wheels, whether bikes or scooters.
The Get On campaign offers anyone over the age of 16 the chance of riding a scooter or geared 125cc motorcycle at any one of 150 Get On centres across the country.
Get On is running a special promotion allowing anyone who introduces a friend at a Get On dealer, the chance to win biking prizes, including Arai helmets, Weise riding kit, biking holidays and more.
Associate and Motorcycle Personal Injury team leader Simon Richards said: "The week is a fantastic opportunity for everybody involved in the motorcycle community to promote motorcycling and to encourage more people to experience the enjoyment riding on two wheels can offer."
Access Legal from Shoosmiths' motorcycle teams are also gearing up for an action packed week. The branded Access Legal from Shoosmiths bike will be touring the national law firm's offices to encourage staff to get on and test their reactions in an interactive game.
Simon said: "Our brake test reaction kit is proving hugely popular at the biking events we go to, and it's another way of getting people on two wheels."
The Basingstoke motorcycle team will be at Loomies Café, in West Meon, Hampshire, on Ride to Work day (Wednesday 21 July).
Simon added: "Our motorcycle team can't wait for National Motorcycle Week to begin. We're doing all we can to encourage people who enjoy riding to get on two wheels safely, and we're hoping to raise a good sum of money in the meantime for SERV, the charity of the year at our Basingstoke office."
