New legal helpline for 'green' transport organisation
Access Legal from Shoosmiths is to provide a legal helpline for the Environmental Transport Association (ETA).
The national consumer legal services provider will offer advice to 25,000 ETA members on everything from personal injury claims to writing a will.
Established in 1990, the ETA is an 'ethical motoring organisation and sustainable travel lobby group'.
It aims to raise awareness of the impact of transport on the environment and help individuals and organisations make positive changes to their travel habits.
Among its members are a large number of cyclists.
Access Legal from Shoosmiths team leader Dave Escandell said: "We have already handled several personal injury claims for ETA members who are cyclists, and who were involved in road traffic accidents."
The helpline went live on 1 May and will be promoted via the ETA website www.eta.co.uk and monthly e-zine publications.
ETA director Andrew Davis said: "I'm sure our members will find it useful and reassuring having quick and easy access to specialist legal advice on a wide range of issues."
Launched just over a year ago, Access Legal from Shoosmiths offers more than 100 services to individuals and their families under seven headings: conveyancing; employment law; legal disputes; medical negligence; motoring law; personal injury; and wills, family and wealth.
