No change to Inheritance Tax under coalition government

Now, as part of the deal to form a coalition government with the Liberal Democrats, this has been abandoned.
The threshold on individual Inheritance Tax allowance was last raised in April 2009.
Assets owned on death valued over the threshold for an individual or a combined threshold for married couples or civil partners is subject to a flat tax of 40% on assets worldwide.
It remains to be seen if the new Chancellor of the Exchequer will raise the threshold at all in his forthcoming Budget.
