Estate administration
There are invariably legal formalities to be dealt with and our approach is to work with you to provide as much support as you need. We can advise on and deal with all aspects of estate administration regardless of the size of the estate involved, ranging from small estates to complex multi-million pound estates containing businesses, farms and / or overseas assets.
If you've been appointed as an executor in a Will (or are the next of kin of someone who has passed away), you may well find that you have to obtain what is known as a 'Grant'.
This involves making an application to the Probate Registry to prove that you are legally entitled to deal with the assets (property, bank accounts etc) of the deceased.
Applying for a Grant and dealing with the subsequent legal formalities can be time consuming and stressful.
Legal advice should be sought so that you have the reassurance of knowing that everything has been dealt with accurately. There are tax returns to be filed with HM Revenue & Customs and penalties are imposed if they're not completed correctly.
