Dealing with the death of a loved one is always a difficult and stressful time. We're committed to easing the burden for family and friends faced with this situation. Probate is a crucial step in administering the estate. There are invariably legal formalities to be dealt with following a death and our approach is to work with you to provide as much support as you need. We can advise on and deal with all aspects of estate administration regardless of the size of the estate involved, ranging from small estates to complex multi-million pound estates containing businesses, farms or overseas assets.
There when you need us
If you've been appointed as an executor in a will (or are the next of kin of someone who has passed away), you may well find that you have to obtain what is known as a 'grant' or a 'grant of representation'. This involves making an application to the probate registry to prove that you are legally entitled to deal with the assets (property, bank accounts etc) of the deceased. Applying for a grant and dealing with the subsequent legal formalities can be time consuming and stressful. There may well be tax returns to be filed with HM Revenue & Customs and penalties may be imposed if they're not completed correctly. Some wills contain ongoing trust funds that need to be administered and we can help you with your trustee duties. If the death of your loved one was caused by an accident, we can help you, or whoever the personal representative may be, to claim fatal accident compensation. We aim to provide you with a sensitive and professional estate administration service that gives you the reassurance of knowing that everything has been dealt with accurately and promptly and gives you the best advice possible at a time when you need it most.
