Choosing the right solicitor
Following your motorbike accident, you may have been directed to a solicitor by your insurance company, but you are not obliged to use them. Claims following motorbike accidents involve specialist knowledge, and it is important to research the solicitors you instruct to make sure they have relevant bike claims experience.
Many of our specialist biking lawyers are riders themselves, so they know first hand the issues faced when dealing with bike claims. They're familiar with insurers' arguments, case law, and know that when people say a biker was speeding, it is often due to the noise a bike makes. We have successfully fought off such arguments many times.
If you are unhappy with the advice or level of service provided by the solicitor you were referred to, we suggest contacting us for free, independent advice. We have helped many bikers dissatisfied with the legal advice they have been given by lawyers they were asked to contact following motorbike accidents.
Important things to consider: Collecting evidence after motorbike accidents
If you are able to following your accident, keep details of witnesses who saw what happened.
If the defect, hazard or spillage is outside a place or work, school or house, contact people there to see how long it has been there, and whether they have reported it to anyone.
Take photographs of the defect, hazard or spillage, preferably including in the picture a ruler or some other standard size item.
As with all accident claims, keep all receipts for any out of pocket expenses, such as prescriptions, treatment and travel costs incurred.
Legal costs: No-win-no-fee
We must ensure there is a funding arrangement in place to avoid you losing part of your compensation and legal fees. We can talk you through various funding options and advise you on the best one for your circumstances. In most cases we will act on your behalf on a no-win-no-fee basis, meaning you retain 100% of your compensation.
