She specialises in leasehold and collective enfranchisement matters, dealing with both contentious and non contentious issues for her clients. She acts for tenants both as individuals and as part of a group who are seeking to extend their residential leases or acquire the freehold of their building, via the statutory route or informally. Sajel also acts for landlords who wish to dispose of their freeholds by offering tenants the right of first refusal.

Sajel’s other areas of specialism include undertaking right to manage matters and advising on situations where there is an absentee landlord and the tenants seek a lease extension or freehold acquisition.

Sajel studied at the University of Derby and the College of Law in Birmingham. She trained at a niche London West-end practice before moving to another niche practice specialising in leasehold and collective enfranchisement. She joined Shoosmiths as an Associate in 2014.
